The Value of Gratitude

The value of gratitude is always greater than we think.

Especially if gratitude is only an illusion - a passive-aggressive 'blessed' that lets us sit on our hands.

I suspect we’re all so busy being grateful, we don’t get around, you know, acting grateful.

I stood with a supporter of a nonprofit who had given generously and consistently and, since I was just a lowly consultant and didn’t know better, I looked in his eyes and said, Thank you - your generosity is changing lives... can I tell you about a family in...”

And he started to cry... tears... a smile that he tried and tried to subdue... and he said to me, Thank you... thank you for saying that.

Next week I received a thank you note from him - A THANK YOU FROM HIM!
