We tell ourselves we’re hands-off. We tell ourselves we’re secure enough to hire smart people. We tell our staff, Go ahead - create!
But what we really mean is, Create (and I’ll edit, thank you). We trust (but verify) numbers. We trust (and expect results) from sales. We trust almost everyone except... creatives, marketers, brand-builders. We give them permission, but... Why? Because too much is at stake (and by too much we mean our egos, our personal brands). Marketing is media and it’s bigger than numbers, bigger than sales... but we're not sure how. That is, permission is NOT the same as empowered. Comments are closed.
