Not knowing what we don't know is one thing (a constant and troubling problem that keeps great leaders searching and questioning to benefit their team).
But what about what we choose not to know? This self-awareness question is a next-level kind of arrogance. What are the things we know we are choosing not to know? What are we just certain answers the questions others have about us? Is it our idiosyncrasies? That is, how we prefer or need others to connect with us because of our unique or problematic or characteristic ways of interacting? Can we even read a note if it's not printed in our favorite font? With our favorite color? In our preferred style - bullet point vs. sentences? Leadership is love, and love is deference... but not from our teams. It's love and deference from the leader.
