Numbers beat words - and that’s the problem with marketing today.
If you bring words and finance or operations brings numbers - a spreadsheet and maybe a pie chart - you’ll lose. Why? Because soulless numbers, ROI, and every reduction in spending will win. Spending money to make money loses. Don’t believe me? Next meeting where someone suggests a reduction, cut or ‘we can do more for less’ - watch how long that decisions takes. And compare that with a meeting where someone suggests an increase in spending, marketing or a ‘spend money to make money’ ask - watch how long that decision takes. You’ll notice a difference...
