Looking Over Our Shoulder

Some of us take notes as if we cared more about the person who might look over our shoulder than about whether we're benefiting from our notes.

I've seen college and university professors requiring students to turn-in their notes for grading. (That says more about the insecurities of the professors than they'd ever admit.)

One employer did something similar in asking seminar participants to leave their notebooks behind during our lunch break and we discovered a team of people had gone through our notebooks while we ate turkey sandwiches and potato chips in a different room.

Don't be that person... and don't take classes from that kind of person... and don't work for that kind of person.
