Yes, there are categories, types, and combinations, but the uniqueness phenomenon is raging and a current hard to constantly swim against. So defenders of journaling (not the word, but the practice) offer that it is a way to learn, acquire, reinforce, or process ideas. It's not a record-keeping exercise only. It's not a self-indulgent, narcissistic self-authoring only. And it's not just another exercise in self-awareness and introspection only. It's a way of processing things - thoughts or feelings. It's a way of processing arguments and conflicts without actually having to fight with someone else. It's a technique for different combinations of learners. Comments are closed.
