Hire dangerously

A narcissist only needs their mirror.

Their team reflecting their views, echoing preferences and creating so the narcissist can take credit with humble-brags like, "I hire smart people."

And when trying to compliment others, the narcissist says things like, "Even I was impressed!"

They'll love consultants who feed their ego, and praise hires who supply copy featuring the narcissist's story - feeding them pronouns I, me and my and cashing check after check.

But the consultants who - in childlike honesty - point out the emperor has no clothes will not last long (they're too smart to hire apparently).

Don't trust people who lead their businesses and organizations by their mirror.

Trust leaders who hire dangerously.
