A couple of days ago I wrote about a new trend in personal development circles - to poo-poo goals and celebrate strategies.
And if you're like so many, you probably looked it up - or at least put it on your to-do list to find out more. It's a good - even cute - angle on an old topic. But why are goals bad? Because everything we do to get to a goal is short of success. There is little concern for the process (i.e. the strategies) to get to a goal unless it serves the utilitarian end of the almighty god of personal development and business success: the GOAL. So it's fail, fail, fail until we taste success. Everything is short of success. And that's why some say goals are for losers. Comments are closed.
