It’s not what someone else needs - our choice of which nonprofit we’ll give to is all about our wants.
What do we hope to accomplish by giving away our money in a value exchange we call philanthropy? That drives our relationships with giving. Who will I be because I give? What is the story I want to tell about myself? What are the emotional reinforcements, feelings, and community I’ll become part of by giving? These are the reasons that drive ALL giving - EVERY measure of generosity - for EACH way we feel about the value we gain when we give. Showing and praising and thanking and providing a trustworthy story about the giver’s competence and influence IS the heart of good #nonprofit #marketing.
