The 'fiscal year' newsletter just arrived from a nonprofit nearby.
They thanked those who had given throughout past the year - July 1 to June 30 - but said they still fell short of their projected budget. That triggered cut-backs to essential, needed services for the most vulnerable, reductions is staffing, and lowered expectations for this next fiscal year. They also said they've weren't able to reach their goals for the fiscal year - and some metrics reflected the 'difficult times' we're all facing... so they understand. Oh, and they said they'd love to do more good in this fiscal year but needed pledges from me, you, them - everybody - to make plans to help their plans a reality. If you'd still like to give a donation (I wonder if they want a kidney or a lung or just blood), it will be part of this current fiscal year - even if you missed their June 30, fiscal year is ending soon, please give appeal - it's too late to do anything about that. And there was a personal note from the Executive Director about how essential their work is to so many, and he really doesn't want to let them down again this year, so please pledge early, pledge generously, and he hopes we have a nice fiscal year ahead ourselves.
