Entitlement is the problem

What explains the consistent struggle and failure of so many nonprofits?

For all the passion, love of serving, mission to do good, glaring needs, and sacrificial aspirations, more nonprofits failed than succeeded this year.

It can’t be their fault, can it?!

It can’t be that their sacrifice and passion and all the needs of our world don’t matter, can it?!

We do the good every good person knows needs to be done... but we don’t have enough money (or respect or trust) to do it.

So, we ask them for the money. We tell them about how passionate and mission-driven and sacrificial we are and the great need.

But people still don’t give enough.

And we’re sure we deserve it because...

Entitlement is the problem.

But what’s the cure?
