Empathy is Cool

"I know - me too!" is NOT empathy.

"That reminds me, I've always thought..." is NOT empathy.

"I was thinking of you; I want you to know how much I care" is NOT empathy.

Empathy is the new, cool word, and it's as rare as it's needed today... especially among those preaching empathy!

Do you have it?

Does it come naturally?

Or is it just another way to talk about yourself?

Without it, we'll always struggle... grow bitter and defensive and soon complain that others don't appreciate our self-proclaimed empathy.

Need it in your business or nonprofit? Then go hire it. Find the talent. Pay them. And listen to them.

Empathy has the final say - in mission, in editing, in communications - in everything.

Empathy... it’s all that matters.
