How do we measure the accountability of the giving and receiving we call the nonprofit world?
Is there a measure of success? Worth? Can we compare nonprofits? Or is it more apples and oranges than that? Do nonprofits make promises to us? Do they keep those promises? Do they show us how they keep their promises? Do we even care? (Really, how many actually read the newsletters or annual reports nonprofits use to tell us what they've done with our money? I'm guessing not many - or at least not many with time on our hands because we're working to make more money they'll be asking us for soon enough.) So what kind of accountability should we ask for? And if we ask for it, will they do it? And will it make us feel better about what we've given - enough to prompt us to give even more? Comments are closed.
