Pick a word – any word – except one: goals.
Setting goals is a losers game and breeds an unsatisfying, futile game out of life.
There’s this old wisdom that everything we do needs to have a goal – an end – an outcome that we’re working toward.
It can be a dollar amount for our investments, a degree for our education, sales achievement, a certain number of poor, homeless widows with small children sheltered and fed a Thanksgiving dinner for only $1.78 - it can be anything.
But everything we do before we reach the goal is short of success… and that’s to manipulate us into striving for the goal with determination and NOT to confuse trying with succeeding.
But what if trying is an even more important part of succeeding than, well, just success?
