We get it - you don't like the negativity, snark and ugliness of social media - Twitter is a cesspool, Facebook is ideological, Instagram is irrelevant, LinkedIn is oddly narrow and self-serving, and don't get started on Tik-Tok (unless your demographic is 14 year-olds).
So you compose a manifesto - everything that's wrong with social media... how it's ruining the world... how it fails the test of civility - and you post it... on social media. Irony? Yes, but more than irony. It's where your intended audience is (and those who already agree with you aren't there anyway). It's the ultimate "You guys need to understand!" unempathetic haranguing imaginable. And it kinda works. Yes, yes, social media doesn't make people mean - it just gives us all a free, unedited platform to show the world who we really are. But it's also the game - the major league - the Show, and not Class A Short Season! And, yes, social media can handle the criticism... even the irony. Comments are closed.
