Instead of creating sales talking-points and your elevator pitch filled with messaging-fidelity, try working-up an aggregator pitch.
If I give you 30 seconds of my time - whether I'm a captive audience or simply being polite - why would you try to sell me something I might not need or care about? Yes, yes, you're a true evangelist who eats, drinks, sleeps, and obsesses about your product or organization. And you need something quick and direct to showcase your uniqueness, your vision and values. But instead of selling, try giving... try serving by discovering and connecting ways to join others together so they find solutions to both perceived and real needs. We're all trying to be the next Uber or Airbnb because they're aggregators - not owning a cab or cabin they create connections, solve problems (sometimes, problems we didn't know we had), and serving those who are ready to be served. Our aggregator pitch finds those pain- or pressure-points through simple, obvious engagement. It gives without selling - gives the gift of awareness... just gives it away. And it refuses to fall back into self-referencing messaging even when asked, "So, what do you do?" and opts for "You" language, and open-ended questions instead of answering in binary responses. An aggregator pitch serves, it doesn't sell. Comments are closed.
