I don’t know who counts these things, but ‘they’ say each of us is bombarded with 3,000 discrete messages a day - every day.
Does that seem like a lot? It seems low to me, but then it’s just another one of the 3,000 messages after all so that’s ironic. What do ‘they’ do with their magical 3,000 number? They’re creating a problem for us - With sooo many messages, you can’t possible stand out - be noticed - unless you do something wildly awesome and attention grabbing (and this is where FOMO leads to stupidity and immaturity and embarrassment). The alternative? Pay attention to your own 3,000 messages and see what’s NOT there. My guess is GRATITUDE is missing - affirmation is absent - praise is rare - boasting (about you) is scarce. They’re selling you on a problem that they’ll help you solve for a price... their price. I’m suggestion a free solution. Be thankful and affirming - even while showing (not just telling) the problem that can be solved when good people are good. This takes emotional maturity - not a budget increase. If you are the only one showing genuine gratitude, you’ll stand out in the 3,000. Comments are closed.
